grambie's hands

grambie was in chicago too, the biggest reason we decided last-minute to go visit. she's 92. i love this woman rather fiercely, and am much like her I think. fynn has many of her expressions. i love her hands. seeing her at my folks rather than at the retirement center was heaven, as she was much more relaxed and not worrying about the kids being noisy or what time dinner was. and i wasn't worrying about my kids destroying her room or running shrieking down the hall and turning over the puzzle table. she was in heaven just watching the kids and couldn't get enough of it. i wish I could rest my head on her lap every night ... it's one of the most comforting places on this earth to me.

I don't have any of my grandparents left alive so I consider you very lucky to have your kids in a room with yours. My grandpa had the best hands, which is what drew me into your blog, and my Nanna died when I was in Japan, just a little while before I got married. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE this photom and your blog which has inexplicably escaped me until now. It won't any longer, since it's now in my favourites.
Oh, and by the way, when you wrote in my blog, I thought you were another one of my best friends, who calls herself HERM from the initials of her four daughters. Who would think you'd both be calling yourself by the same obscure name?
