a step in the right direction

Made this yesterday as part of a prize package. My 2nd ever sewn binding, and the first 'exposed' one with the stitching showing on the spine. I love making books. Michael got me a ream of paper and a paper cutter for my birthday, and also ordered me a book on bookbinding techniques (Vol II from this set). I want to get the whole set eventually. D is going to get a couple handmade ones for christmas, for his inventions, recipes, and songs. he loves making his own with staples, just like i used to with stickers and paper and twist ties while hiding under my chair during meeting.
